Breeding terrier puppies is just like training them. You must know what kind of terrier you want to breed because there are different kinds of terrier dogs. Breeding terrier puppies require a lot of time, money and patience. You must also know the terrier’s history which includes health, temper or attitude towards other dogs.

Before breeding terrier puppies you must remember the following:
1. Check for pedigree and registration. All kinds of dogs that are pure bred always require these two.
2. Health history of the terrier dog must be considered. There are terrier dogs that are very sensitive and gets sick easily.
3. You must be sure that you are dedicated and you have the time to care for the puppies bred. Terrier dogs need a lot of affection especially when they are still young.
4. Female dogs begin to be “in heat” when they are 6 to 7 months old. It is better to wait while the dog is fully grown.
5. When you the blood already came out from the dogs vulva, count 12 days then the bitch is already ready to mate. Take note also of how much blood is coming out of the vulva, swelling of vulva and the attitude of the bitch. But if you miss the first day of the blood flow, it is better to bring the male earlier because you might not now the female dog is already ready to breed.
Breeding terrier puppies is an exciting task but it can be also tedious and time consuming. Just make sure that you got the right breed of terrier and that you are ready to handle the responsibility.
