Jack Russell Terriers were originally bred to become working dogs. They were often tasked as locators of quarries in the past, making them extremely intelligent and physically active. They are ultimately athletic and fearless. They bark all the time and tend to become moody and destructive. To avoid this, Jack Russell Terrier Puppies should be trained with utmost care and should be stimulated all the time to avoid their becoming bored.
They can also be sport dogs because of their agility. To manage them better, it is suggested for owners to take part in obedience classes. In obedience classes, Jack Russells will be trained not to be stubborn and aggressive towards other animals especially to those much larger than them. Proper socialization of Jack Russell Terrier Puppies is required in raising this dog breed. This should continue throughout their lifetime so that they will continue to go along with persons in a manner both beneficial to man and dog. Young children might not be good to be around Jack Russell Terriers for they might hurt these dogs and Jack Russells are not to back down to any physical aggression be it intentional or not. Any physical encounter could be avoided with proper orientation of the child and the Jack Russell. If properly introduced, there might be likelihood that the dog will not do any harm to the kid.
Despite of all these seemingly negative qualities, Jack Russell Terrier Puppies are really just loving and intelligent dogs. They also have the ability of entertaining their masters with their funny antics. Great understanding of their character should be the primary consideration in raising these dogs. With this in hand combined with proper training, you and your Jack Russell Terrier will surely have a harmonious relationship.
